Skeleton aircraft

Hi All, I have just upgraded my computor to MS 7.
Slowly adding the aircraft I had previously on FSX MS XP.
However a Beaufighter that I had downloaded some years ago, on simviation ( I think it was from Dave Taylors free FSX aircraft site?) now only shows on the opening FSX screen, when selected, as a skeleton! Still flys OK but outside view shows up real funny. I tracked down a new download site at Classic British Flt Sim, but same result. Tried a new aircraft from the same site (Mosquito) but same results. Any help with this would be much appreciated. The installation instructions are a little bit vague so may be doing something wrong there. If someone could explain how to correctly install, it will be most appreciated. Many thanks.

If it's showing up then you've successfully installed it.  Showing as a 'skeleton' is something that I haven't heard of.

It would help if you could provide a link to the exact aircraft and show a screenshot of what you mean by 'skeleton'  8-)

Hi there. The Beaufighter & Mosquito are FSX native models. If I understand this correctly you need to install the FSX SP1 & SP2 updates. http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=Flight+Simulator+X+Service+Pack&x=11&y=5

Check the current issue of PC Pilot magazine , page 86.
They tracked a similar issue down to being caused by leaving the anti virus on while loading software .
Apparently the anti virus can mistake some parts that are being loaded as being bad and blocks some aspects.
The recommendation appears to be , disable anti virus for the duration of loading your aircraft.
Remember to enable it afterwards .

Cheers
Karol

I have also gotten this appearance if I inadvertently had DX10 preview mode checked(on) in my settings.
