This is twice now already, that I noticed that when ATC doesnt let me fly the exact route the GPS is showing and when I have to proceed on own course, the line on the GPS I'm following is still white and when I switch to GPS navigation, my aircraft wants to turn around and presumably go back the last point where it still was following the GPS route.
I never seen this before, I always could have dropped in on the part of the route I was following.
Can anyone help me out here?

In order for the GPS to stay in sycn with your progress you have to pass within a short distance of the next TO waypoint. When you activate AP-GPS it's turning you back to the active leg or the last TO waypoint.
You can resync the GPS: (for the G500)
In FPL map mode...
Press the FPL button to get to the 'active flight plan' screen, showing the waypoint list.
Press the PUSH CRSR. Then use the outer ring arrows to move the green cursor down the list to the desired TO waypoint.
Press the MENU button. It will show the FROM and TO waypoints for the leg.
Press ENT.
The leg will become the active.
For the G295. There is no MENU button on the 295 but you can go to Settings>Controls and assign a key for the MENU option.
