Can't reload FSX - Can you help?

I previously had FSX deluxe edition and acceleration expansion pack installed on my computer, but wasn't using them so I un-installed them. This was several months ago.

Recently I decided to put them back but when I tried I only get an error message :"1607: Unable to InstallShield Scripting Runtime"

What does this mean and how can I reinstall them ?

Did you do a proper FSX un-install ?  When you choose install after inserting your disk, does it give you an uninstall or repair option ?  If so, try one of those and see what happens.

Hi!

I have never had this problem thankfully however I had a look on Bing and found this page from Microsoft if you hadn't seen it yet,

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910816

It lists like 300 things to try to fix it (actually I think 6).  Personally I wouldn't go for the Microsoft FixIt thing and would rather do it myself.  Anyway hope it works with the first one!

Hope it might helpa little

P.

FSX can be a pain to uninstall, then reinstall (sometimes). What you should do is a search to find any files which get leftover. Make sure that in your Folder Options (in control panel) that show hidden files and folders is selected. if you find any leftovers just delete them. Now this next step should do the trick. FSX will leave behind entries in the registry, so you need to clean it up. A good freeware registry cleaner is CCleaner http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner, easy to use, just remember to back up the reg when it prompts you to.

Many thanks!
