They're in \My Documents/Flight Simulator X Files\. The files have the .fsr extension.

The 'Flight videos' recorded by fsx are not video files. They record flight data that when played back in the sim, recreate the flight. They can only be played back in the sim.

There's a freeware "FS Recorder" that is used to record a flight for playback.

To record a video, you need a game recorder of some sort.  I use Fraps, which is "freeware", but limited and displays a "Fraps" tag. To get rid of that you have to pay for the full version and register it.  IIRC, there are some totally freeware game recorders out there, but you have to hunt for them.
