Problem seeing the runway on approach

Postby Bubblehead » Sat Nov 10, 2012 10:38 am

As I approach the runway during landing, I have trouble seeing over the panel as if the panel was too high even when I cycle pressing "W". The end result is either I and when I get too low I lift the nose up and I lose sight of the runway. I only experience this problem mostly with commercial jets. Is this because of the configuration of the panel? or is there any adjustment in the FSX whereby I can lower the height of the panel?

Hello Bubble...

You can shift yourself higher and lower in your seat with Shift+ Enter/Shift+Delete...

Paul...always bring a cushion with you... ;D...!

The beauty of 2D panels in default Aeroplanes where you can drag the top of the panel down!
Win 8.1 64-bit. DX11. Advent Tower. Intel i7-3770 3.9 GHz 8-core. 8 GB System RAM. AMD Radeon HD 7700 1GB RAM. DVD ROM. 2 Terra Byte SATA Hard Drive. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Saitek Cyborg X Fly-5 Joystick. ...and a Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower.

Shift+Enter will help for both the VC and 2D panels.
Constructive criticism appreciated.

Make sure you're at an appropriate landing weight.. appropriate configuration (flaps/gear), and at the appropriate approach airspeed.

"Keyboard" commands for Seat Height Adjustment - FSX.

To go "UP" - Tap  Shift and Enter - at the same time

To go "Down" - Tap Shift and BackSpace Key

To go Backwards - hold down on the Ctrl key and TAP the ENTER key

To move forward - hold down on the Crtl key and Tap the BackSpace key .

To EJECT yourself totally out of the cockpits - Hit the EJECTION key - to send yourself Flying 5,000ft in to mid air where you'll land on your Keister !!  ;D :D ;D :D :o

Thanks for the inputs gents. Part of my problem actually involves the airport - San Diego International - which requires a steeper approach. I need to point the nose down a bit without overspeeding.
