What is the best setup?

Dear All,
I'm not too clued up on PC's but I am told that I have a reasonable PC for FSX.
Processor: Intel Core i7CPU 950 @ 3.07 GHz
12GB Ram
I use three monitors but have found that the images have started to get a bit jerky.
I know this is a general question but is there anything specific I need to be looking at?
Also, are there any programes available for Windows 7 that will disable all programes other than FSX when FSX is in use?
Many thanks,
Mark

Your PC is no problem, depends a bit on the videocard you are using. I run a I7 2800 at 3.4 Ghz with 12Gb RAM and a Nvidia GTX 550 Ti. In most areas I can run FSX at full settings and still get 25-30 FPS, in other areas it looks like a slideshow. It all depends on how heavy the scenery is and which plane you are using.

A program to stop all processes without any problems (unlike FSAutostart):

Enjoy.

Also, make sure you use this tool to improve FSX's performance. It made a big difference for me.

Since no one mentioned PC maintenance I guess I will. Because you mention these problems have started lately. Make sure you defrag routinely and keep your machine tuned up. It is amazing how much crap can build up and slow down your flight sim.
