After many years of not playing Flight Simulator. How do I know if I need to install the service packs?

Right-click on fsx.exe & select Properties. Click the Version tab. These are the version numbers.

Click on "Details" tab.
It gives all the details of the FSX version.

Sorry. It might be different depending on your OS. To find the version number run FSX & click Help > About on the menu bar.

After reading this thread, I looked up what ver. of FSX I have.
I found out I have ver.1.
Question why should I install ver.2?

I won't be able to check it for a few days. Working a lot, won't be until Sunday.

I assume you mean FSX SP1?
Question why should I install ver.2? What would I gain??
Thanks for your advice!
Chief
This is what SP2 does according to Phil Taylor who was a member of ACES, the FSX developers.
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ptaylor/archive/2007/10/02/acceleration-and-sp2.aspxI do know that some 3rd party aircraft will not display properly without it.
