Anyone advise the best way to store a back up of all my add-on scenery and aircraft files , so that I can reload them
without too much hassle if I ever have to reload FSX  ?
I am thinking a separate stand alone disc drive. ?

I can only think of Copy/Paste. It would take a while but you could back up your complete FSX directory if you wished.

My 3rd party aircraft & scenery are installed to locations outside the FSX root directory. They will be perfectly safe if I ever have to reinstall FSX. I might have to reactivate the scenery.

I have everything now on an external 1.5TB drive. Works for me! Having just done a full re-install of the OS and FSX, its a whole lot easier to have everything there ready to go :)

I've burnt my 'Airplanes' folder to disk for safekeeping on the basis of "a disk is forever"..;)
