I understand from the lessons in FSX that with A/T, speedhold and TO/GA, I can setup a desired airspeed before takeoff, to have the aircraft accelerate to the designated speed and hold at that possition. However, I've been trying different combination of working with it, but no matter what I do, the aircraft doesnt stabalise at the set speed.
What procedure do I use to have the aircraft accelerate to the set speed and hold at that point?

I need to learn all this myself, as well as using FMA & FMC , that'll Auto-Land your Aircraft for you, least Jetliners anyway. If I ever get time to learn all this time consuming stuff, its summer got lots of up keep to do, yard, house, etc.  Try doing a Search on YOU TUBE, you'll probably find answers there most likely. Set the speed you desire for your speed hold.  Either use the T/O button to accelerate the engines to takeoff power or take off manually.  Once airborne hit the speed hold button which will cancel the T/O hold and use your desired speed.

Going by my personal experiences with default or simple aircrafts under FS, pressing the TOGA button is equal to firewall the throttle. Full Stop. There's no setting. All or nothing.

In paywares and/or better made planes than the average the TOGA button may have the same functions than in real life, but if you're amusing yourself with a simple plane... the above writ is in act.

My suggestion for an automatic management of the throttle in take off in said default or simple planes is to enter the desired ias speed in the autothrottle and activate this function already on the runway, and use the TOGA button only if your joystick comes without a hardware throttle and only for taking off from short runways.

@Jetranger -I've been able to autoland (Heading and altitude at least) with every aircraft I tried so far, even the native cessna 172, with a simple ILS approach procedure.
