FSX and Multiplayer ATC benefits...

After having FSX on my Hard Drive since it was first released, I have always run my trusty FS 2004 since the year dot, both Solo and Multiplayer...
...but today, during a moment of extreme madness, I loaded up my FSX, connected to Multiplayer, (via the fantastic FS Host Client!), gave ATC a call, requested "Flight Following", and for the first time I was able to Fly in Multiplayer and contact ATC for the first time... :D...., (It cant be done in FS 2004... :'(...)!

But the thing I miss, really miss!, more than anything else, is my wonderful FS Navigator, with all its amazing, real-time information (including Radar) appearing on screen as I fly!
It was never produced for FSX.
Although my Comp spec is fairly lowly, (Pentium P4 Dual Core, 2.8 GHz), and runs FS 2004 beautifully, it can run FSX with most of the sliders moved up, and although it is slightly "stuttery" in busy places, it is fairly acceptable.
I could/may be persuaded to move over to FSX more, if only I could take my wonderful FS Navigator with me!
So at the moment I run both FS 2004 and FSX, selecting which one suits me better at the time!.. :D...!

Being able to use full facility of; "Air Traffic Control" in FSX Multiplayer, is a big advantage for me!

Paul.... 8-)...!

Paul,

Take a look at the 'Plan G' vfr flight planner, the nearest thing to FS Nav for FSX (also FS2004). http://www.tasoftware.co.uk/planG.htm

FSX has its advantages. ;)
Only I wouldn't rely on the ATC too much,it has...isues...(involving sending you around the world on the dublin-heathrow route and letting litle cesnas and pipers on the runway while you have an engine fire. ::))

Many thanks for the heads-up, Dave!... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]...!

It wasn't a program I was familiar with!
Installed it for my copy of FSX...Very useful!
(FS Nav is still used for my FS 2004).

Thanks again!

I quite enjoy filing VFR/IFR flight plans, and using Flight Following with ATC (in FS 2004), and if the various way-points, beacons, etc, are displayed on the map, the reason for the apparent diversions can easily be understood!

Paul..."Say again?".... ;D...!
