"On a different account"?

FS recorder is touchy on Vista and Win7, especially with Win7.

heck yah it is! on my computer, before I added the SDK stuff to the dll.xml, FSX would crash every other time on startup, on further inspection, it would freeze right before starting up fs recorder. >:(

Another Reason I Quit loading many of these disasterous programs into my computer, their just too iffy by whoever wrote em', and the lack of Information in the description of the program, prior to downloading also sucks, as to exactly what Operating Systems they were really Designed to work with, many times the creator just "Assumes" it'll work with other Operating Systems but never truly tests it out to see if it does, and there lies the culprit of the problem, that and the lack of information in the descriptions prior to downloading these programs. These programs should work with any Operating System, without any problems if they were designed right in the 1st place and properly Tested out before hand. Users shouldn't be led to download a program under assumptions that'll it'll be able to be up and working after installation,,, then find out - the user will need to Install a few other programs to make it even work at all,, some scenery downloads are like that and I just quit messing with them all together, like , heres a download , make it sound all nice & cool,, but you'll need Runway 12 object whatever and 2 more other programs too, and it might maybe work on your system, maybe "IF" you have these other 30 downloads in your system, then maybe it'll work, but ohnly IF you have this system or that system,, which you can download here or over there,,, Geee No thanks, just forget about it, sorry I even thought about wanting the damn thing now !!! :-X :-X :-X :-/ :-/

Whoa there, I started this thread looking for help, if you want to complain, do it somewhere else.

I have xp on a laptop that I share with my bother, that's where the "different account" came from

Once again, if you want to complain, do it somewhere else

Is it possible that it was installed in that separate account?

The SDK should have no effect on FSrecorder, and when i said "glitchy", mostly with Win7 I really did not mean that it was *always* messing up, and when it does, it's only a minor annoyance.  In retrospect, I do not seem to remember there being too many times it ever messed up with Vista.

As far as Win XP, I've never used that OS, but by all accounts, XP and FSX worked quite well together.

I think so, It is probably the code for the XML.xml causing the trouble, auto-install didn't work...

IIRC, neither did mine on Win7, so I did the manual install, but that's been a bit over a year ago. I think the reason it failed is because I did not install FSX in the default location.

One other peculiarity I noticed.  If you have certain non-FSX native aircraft as your default flight, the "FS Recorder" tab does not show up on the menu bar.

Current Default is The IRIS P-40,
Can you tell me the code for the XML.xml, kinda forgot...

I don't have a clue as to the XML.xml. Have you tried re-installing FSr under your account instead of your brothers?
