Hi.

I Have downloaded British Airways 777 from Simviation for  Installing, into FSX, I have unzipped the files to FSX \simobjects\Airplanes\, I have moved the 777-effects to FSX\Effects. But not sure about the next step [ move the alternate. cfg, panel & sounds folders in the included\FSX' folder into the main aircraft folder overwrighting the originals ], Please can someone explain this in more detail, Newbie to all of this, Many Thanks in advance

Edmundo

Hi Edmundo

It's no good saying you've installed a Boeing 777...which model? for what sim (is it FS.X native)?, without such basic information there can be no answer.

HI Eduardo

You shouold not unzip into the FSX folder. You will get trouble if you do this.

Extract into a temp folder and then move the correct files  (the folder containing 4 more folders - model/panel/sound/panel + air and aircraft.cfg files) into /simobjects/airplanes

There is nothing more than that

See this for further help.

Or you could just take the main folder in the download, and put it in your simobjects/airplanes

Not Eduardo , Edmundo

there's one folder name 777-effects that should be in the main effect folder

there its no sound Look into the aircraft sound folder
open this Sound.cfg using Notepad and change this

[fltsim]
alias=B737_400\sound

to this

[fltsim]
alias=B737_800\sound

replace the 4 by and 8

You need the following gauge which it was not included in the package

Boeing777-300.gau

then this file

gauge11=B737_800!autopilot,  335,530,686,84

has to be replaced like this

gauge11=Boeing777-300!autopilot,  335,530,686,84

and Whala!!

Or if you have the Wilco 777, you can merge the Cockpits into on another, then you would have a full FMC to use!  :D
