removing cockpit textures in "look" views

I've always been bothered by the usually crude attempt to place the part of the cockpit corresponding to the views (right oblique, right side, right rear oblique, rear, etc.).

If I understand your question, you mean "camera". If so, they are in the aircraft.cfg, and are the [CameraDefinitions.X] entries. Just edit the aircraft.cfg by deleting those entries and saving the changes.

HI! Thanks for the response! I'm not referring to the cam views but the part of the cockpit (look left and you see the window pillar or instruments at the left arm of the pilot) the pilot would see if he looked left. Looking left and forward (7 on the keypad for me) the pilot is looking at an angle of 45deg from dead ahead; looking right (6 on the number pad) the copilot's seat; right and forward (9 on the number pad) part of the panel on the copilot's side; etc. Most of the aircraft in FS9 didn't have any pix of the cockpit interior but it seems all of the FSX aircraft do. I've found one so far that doesn't. On base to an airport, I like look out and see where the runway is, for example. It's not the virtual cockpit textures. I hope this clarifies the question a bit.
Thanks, again!

I didn't think that FSX supports fixed view windows in 2D Cockpit

In FS9, where there is a VC parts of that show in the 2D panel as views but they are modelled parts.
The side view BMP's in FS9 are a part of the 2D panel and this is something FS.X does not support

Great idea! I should've included pix. OK, after investigating further, I've found that some aircraft have the "fixed window" listed in the panel.cfg and the relevant texture included (forward_right, etc.).

Backup the panel.cfg to your documents or somewhere then edit the one in the panel folder removing the Fixed Window lines.
Then test it in fsx & if something isn't right overwrite the edited one with the backed up one.

I think you'll find those fixed views are used on 2D panels for earlier versions of FS.

This is my post from above backing up what Hagar is saying.
There are no 2D BMP views in FS.X, the reason why the FS.X versions of my models do not have them but the FS.9 do.
In FS.9 portovers the views might still be in the folder but of course will be ignored.
