Stock Baron 58 Fuel Gauges

Postby Sir Puma » Thu Nov 03, 2011 11:19 pm

Does anyone have a lot of experience with the stock Baron 58 in FSX? It seems to me that the fuel gauges are buggered up. I'm taking a long flight and while the mouse over lists the fuel tank at 75% the gauge indicates about 98%. :-/

Normally, but I also switch the views around and it still indicate (visually) almost full but when I mouse over the pop up text indicates the lower level. Tis very strange.

They really have this Baron screwed up. I've been trying to make a long flight with it, just to see how well it can do. These are the problems I've found, aside from the stupid fuel gauges. (By the way, they do "work". When it gets to about 50% fuel, the gauge will read 75%.)

Taxi Light doesn't work.
Nav Lights don't work
Service Ceiling is listed at 20K but can't reach 17K without stalling.
Range is listed at 1500 nm on it's 142gal tank, but when doing a flight plan for 880nm it lists the estimated fuel use at 168-175 gal (depending on what setting I select).
Cruise Speed is listed at 200 kts but at cruise alt of 15K I can't reach 150 kts (Indicated) or 170 GS.

If I were to own an aircraft (sure wish I had the money) it would be a mid size twin similar to the Baron or the C340. Don't ask why, I just really like them. It sure would be nice if MS could at least get their stock aircraft to work right. >:(
