first of all when playing multiplayer why does it start me in the air when ive selected airport or airport nearest to host? its always with idle engines and gear down and is a nightmare.

also how do i select gate so that i dont start lined up on a runway as some pro ATC servers do not like this.

if i uninstall fsx and reinstall will it keep my friends list on multiplayer?

when im playing online many peoples aircraft either show out of position to what they actually are or when they land etc there horizontal and sometimes missing landing gear, or sometimes moving along half in the ground and ive been told this is to do with my graphics?

when playing online ill do a couple of flights and i can never refuel. it always says theres no fuel trucks available at this airport no matter where i land. surely im doing something wrong?

and lastly i see on youtube videos of fsx with amazing graphics and scenery. i have all my traffic, graphics, all settings set to highest. it still runs smoothly but the graphics are no where near any good. what would i need to upgrade to get pretty good graphics? just my graphics card or other things too?

Unsure of the 1st question about starting in the air, try reloaded the airport again.

No it will not, it will UNINSTALL the whole simulator, and 90% of what is related to it.

welcome to internet lag.  there is nothing wrong with your computer, its just the amount of time the information takes to get from their computer to yours, then get rendered and displayed.

Do you have your AI Airport Ground Vehicle slider turned up?  If you cant get a fuel truck to come to you, have you tried parking next to the fuel tank / service station ??


CPU, MOTHERBOARD, GRAPHICS, RAM.    Some, not all, SOME of the areas that you see people making videos of, they have downloaded scenery for that area. You will at least need better scenery and/or Terrain Mesh for your stuff to look better.  (Example: FTX ORBX Pacific North West, Pacific Fjords, Northern Rocky Mountains, Central Rocky Mountains...... Ultimate Terrain X, Ground Environment Xtreme...  and this is just to name a few)

Another player may already be in the location you were trying to start at. In this case, when you select the airport to start at, change "Active Runway" to one of the parking spaces or gates listed.

where do i find this active runway? becuase ive never seen it to change before

when you start flight sim, FREE FLIGHT, you can change a number of parameters. 1) SELECT AIRCRAFT.  2) CHANGE AIRPORT  3)WEATHER    4)TIME AND SEASON.


click on the 2) CHANGE AIRPORT.     near the bottom, you will see START LOCATION: ACTIVE RUNWAY.   change this to something else.



even if there is an aircraft where you are trying to start, you will be put inside that other aircraft.   FS doesnt care if there are other aircraft where you are trying to start.    Just make sure you are not trying to start on WATER with an aircraft that does not have floats.    You will be thrown 800 feet into the air, and set at 80 knots, so that you can regain control for yourself..... i suspect that this is what is happening.

this isnt within free flight though, this is within multiplayer and ive not seen active runway anywhere on there to change.
