Hey everyone,

I've noticed for the past several weeks that airplanes are "pulling" to the left in FSX. I'm using the X-52 controller, and it's happening with both installed and pre-loaded aircraft (I fly mostly the Carenado 180 and the stock 172). I tried the calibration option in the game, but I didn't quite understand what it was asking me to do. But I'm just wondering if anyone else has seen this and knows a solution (besides figuring out the calibration option).

This happens with my Saitek alot, I believe that it happens to most joysticks at one time or another, it is just the ball and socket being misalinged or off-kilter. I just open the calibration window and move it around until it registers the actual center. It might happen again, but just repeat, and it'll be good as new.

Yeah, in the main calibration window it looks like it's off a hair, but it's sorta hard to tell because it's such a miniscule amount. It's not like it's doing 20 degree banks, more like 1 degree.

Just a few thoughts.....

-P-factor and/or Torque that effects prop aircraft? To check, try reducing P-factor and Torque in the realism settings or see if you get it in a jet or multi-engine with counter rotating props.

-Asymetric payload-example, pilot only, in left seat.

-Check to see that aileron and/or rudder trim are centered.

The plot thickens...

On my last flight the yoke went completely all the way to the left with no input from me. I was able to recover the first two times, but the third time I crashed.

Though I don't have the X-52 I have read reports that it has problems related to a weak connectors linking the joystick and the throttle base. This can cause errant or lost signal from any of the inputs on the joystick.

Try re-seating the plugs.

Are you using a rudder? I had this problem when using a joystick on the ground as rudder pedals. However I forgot to delete the aleron and elevator assignments which completely confused the system and the end result was what you just explained. Hope this helps.

That's what it was, the rudder pedals were assigned to do aileron and elevator controls - no wonder left rudder caused a nosedive!
