Can I change an aircraft's flight dynamics?

I have an aircraft that is unrealistically slow. I want to know if I can do something to make it fly faster. Any and all help is appreciated.

You can modify any aircraft. By changing variables in the aircraft.cfg file and the AIR File.

Example: In

What aircarft is this

What do you mean by unrelistically slow

You can make changes but do the changes relly need to be made???

Are you basing your comments on extensive study of the manuals and actual behaviour under all conditions?

Or is it just something you think??

Yeah.. most of these "too slow" questions stem from big jets and INDICATED

It is the TBM Avenger ghost plane from the Lost in the Triangle mission in FSX. I added sound and a panel, but the aircraft.cfg file has it down with the flight characteristics of a de Havilland Beaver DHC2.

I also went inside the aircraft.cfg and changed the hp to reality and the reference speeds, but they didn't change anything. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Wouldn't be a better idea for you to use a REALLY flyable TBM Avenger? Either the MAAM or the only freeware (though it's for FS9)? :-?

Flight Dynamics tweaking is an art of balance that cannot be learned in five minutes, sadly, and almost always changing a value here will upset another there. Been there, done that, almost got the T-shirt. :P

The only alternative you'd have, if you really like the model of the Avenger you have, is to transplant the FD of the freeware FS9 model (avengv19.zip on Flightsim.com) on the FSX model, seen that Flight Dynamics is one of the least changed parts of the jump from 9 to X... but that's a delicate operation that not always manage to work satisfactorily.

To (hopefully) do it avoiding the model to behave sometimes in a funnily odd way, copy the whole contact points section and the whole lights sections from the FSX's model into the FD of the FS9 Avenger, overwriting this one's presets, then move the files of the FD of the FS9 model into the FSX's plane (backup EVERYTHING you have to mod or delete BEFORE you do, in the unfortunate case the mods don't work and you need to roll back. You. Have. Been. Warned) and then try and fly with the new modified plane.

Good luck and have fun. :)

That seems to have worked. Thanks!
