Help please with weird problem

Postby whitley » Sat May 21, 2011 9:32 am

For some odd and unknown reason, some aircraft have suddenly started to display incorrectly and I have no idea why or how to remedy the problem.

I have FSX acceleration and Windows 7 64 bit

I have FSX screen resolution set at 1280 x 800 x32, but the affected models look short and stumpy. It is only the payware AH P38, a Beechcraft Kingair 350 and Ted Cook's Airspeed Ferry.

The first two are recent installations and have been wrong since installation, but the Ferry used to display OK until recently. I have tried deleting and re-installing, but to no avail and have tried installing one at a time as well.

I haven't altered any FSX settings at all and the problem started abruptly, there must be a reason for it, but I am stumped, any ideas as to the cause and to a remedy?

Hi Whitley,

Have you changed your zoom level by mistake? very easy to change it thinking your changing an instrument setting and your instrument won't be doing anything.

Load up one of the default aircraft and start from there.

Click on your view, in cockpit click on windshield and press backspace, that should reset view to zoom back to basics, recheck zoom on external views as well by same method.

regards
Steve

May the Mynd be with you.
So far my number of landings either passenger or pilot equal my number of takeoffs.

The zoom was one of the first things I checked, although when I have a similar problem in the past, the view has always been elongated and not squashed.

I had the P38 in FS9 and recently found the installation program for it on my old hard drive and copied and pasted it to my new HD and into FSX. I think it didn't install properly, because now I have deleted it, all of the other affected aircraft are back to the correct shape.
