Alphasim Lynx--rotors stop when throttle increased

Here's my problem: When I increase throttle on the Alphasim Lynx, the engines and rotors slow down. When I cut the throttle, they spool back up. It won't let me take off.

I just copied mine from my FS9 folder and dropped it right into my FSX, and it flew perfectly, So we should start with the basics,
Did you download it from here?
and....
Did you download it from the FSX section, or the FS9 section?

On quite a few helicoptrs, it's not "boo-n-scoot". You have to wait for the rotors to spinn up. Just start and sit for a bit with the "throttle" at a low setting, and you should hear the rotor sound change a bit when they are up to speed.

Also, that happens when:
- the copter has TWO engines, but you started only one of them
- the engine throttle is not set at max. Press CTRL+F4 and CTRL+SHIFT+F4 to set the mixture and prop pitch commands (which correspond to something else in a copter, of course) to the max.
Finally, some helicopters require that you set your throttle not to the minimum, but say 10% for the rotor RPM to increase slowly up to the green zone. Until the RPM is in the green you should wait and not try to increase the throttle command.

I could never get on with flying "Helicopters", even after years of trying, in the Sim!....
..completely different from fixed-wing aircraft!...

...!
I would imagine that it would be vital to carefully study the "Helicopter Owners Manual" for the particular type and model in detail, before taking to the air.
I observe Trainee Helicopter Pilots antics at my local airfield...
...a wonderful and highly amusing sight to see, at no cost!...

...!
Paul...all my propellers are at the pointy end!...

....

...!

I don't fly sim copters often.. but from what I remember about my real copter time, applied to sim copters.. the throttle on your controller, is actually the collective-control. You don't adjust the throttle much at all... and the collective control is sorta "reversed", as in the setting that would be full throttle, is a sort of "idle" for the collective.

As Shane asked -- what file is it exactly? I have experienced heli engines that refuse to increase RPM due to them not being started properly or an air file bug - which is easily fixed by replacing the air file.
As Brett says the throttle on your typical joystick corresponds to 2 controls in a real heli - the collective (which basically adjusts lift) and the throttle - which in most heli's is set after required RPM is reached for takeoff, by a governor and not adjusted after takeoff. So you mainly think of your throttle as collective for lift/(descent).

I think I know what your problem is now, and maybe how to solve it.

I really don't need a lecture on semantics. I know that the "throttle" on a helicopter is called the "collective", but for all intents and purposes I used the general term "throttle" because that's what my controller has--a throttle, not a collective.
I downloaded it from the FSX-helicopters page. I have FSX deluxe, running in Vista (I hate Vista) on a Dell XPS420.
I tried waiting for the engines to "spool up" and I tried ctrl+f4, and it didn't work. I also noticed that the HSI is off, even when the avionics master switch and battery switch are on.

May I suggest you try the original FS9 version as Shane suggested.

I just tried the FS9 version and had the same problem. I also noticed that when I switch to spot view, then back to VC, I hear the engines startup, even when I've shut the engines off. It seems like it's stuck in an endless start-up loop.

Have you altered your default start-up flight?

I don't even know how to alter my default start-up flight...
It's as if my throttle--sorry, "collective"

I tried it, and have the same problem.
