NO VC cockpits in Planes ?

I want to say first off to the many talented and generous individuals who create planes and all the various accoutrement that go along with them THANK -YOU. I have a question though, I recently downloaded a plane from here for FSX -SP2 (ISDT - ATR- 42-500) Great plane fun to fly - however no VC. I suppose this is the decision of the individual designer, and perhaps a result of their not using Track IR or similar head tracking. Am I on target here, or is there some other reason (complexity etc.) in designers making a decision to not include this robust feature?

Please - keep up all the great work - you have all added thousands of extra hours of enjoyment off a title that might have otherwise gone by the wayside. Can't wait for the newest release as well....hopefully the same community spirit will reside there as well.

The main problem comes from the complexity. It is very hard for a designer to create a virtual cockpit. Nowadays, with FSX the situation got a lot better, because people use more the virtual cockpit, so the designers who create real FSX planes almost always include a VC.

For FS9 designers however, until very recently, a lot of them were creating planes without VC. It might be linked as well to the fact that the FS9 users were using more the 2D panels than the VC (the first VCs, without 3D gauges, were FPS-heavy and the gauges movements were not smooth at all). Designers like Mike Stone or Kazunori Ito, for example, were famous as "2D-only" designers (although Mr.Ito started creating VCs as well in his latest planes). On the other side, Tim Conrad or Milton Shuppe were known as some of the best VC creators.

I started using VCs when I started playing with Combat Flight Simulator 1 ! I remember I was seduced by the fact I could see the engines of my P-38, little stuff like that adding to the "magic". Back in that time, planes with VC were extremely rare and hard to find, and it was a huge frustration when an author would upload a plane on a site with a description of the history of the plane instead of the description of the features of his FS model  :D Downloading several Megbytes of planes with my poor 56k modem, just to realise it had no VC  :( :D >:(

The description on the file will usually say if there is or is not a VC included.

I ve always said the 90% of the work of making and fsx airplane is making JUST the VC , I can make the whole exterior view  ,including animation and textures of all kind in a week
But making the VC is the hardest part and it can take take two or three month which includes Gauges ,XML parts buttms and lights  :o

That's kind of what I thought. I enjoy very much the efforts of many, in terms of available planes. Thanks to everyone, and another thanks to those who add to my ability to crash while looking out the side window....... ;D
