I have been kicking this question around and can't seem to get a difinitive answer from anyone. Thought the fine people here could help out.
Question: Do FSX Missions count toward total hr's flown medals?
When flying missions in FSX are those flight hours/aircraft/landings added toward the reward medals dealing with total flying hours/aircraft/landings or are they earned just in free flight?

The easiest way to tell would be to just fly a mission and see if the hours are logged in the log book.
Look at your logbook and see what the last entry is and then go fly a mission. After you exit FSX start it back up and see if you have a new log entry.

Thanks for the reply,
There is no question that when you fly a mission that the information does show up in the logbook, it does.
This question was raised because myself and others have seen or read somewhere that mission flights do NOT count toward those medals and count only during free flight.
It's one of those things where you always get two different answers to the same question.

I have not found a definitive source that will settle this one way or the other.

I do not know for sure, but I always thought that anything that showed up in the logbook was counted towards metals: landings, multi eng hours, helo hours, day hours, night hours, IFR hours, etc.
I believe that the logbook data is used to determine when the requirements have been reached to be awarded a metal.

Hi,
Yeah, I guess about sixty or seventy % share your view. The rest feel sure that they saw or read that they don't count in missions.
I'm still kinda undecided because a know I read it somewhere myself. :-/
