I am sure I read something about invisible aircraft here, but can't find it now.

For some reason and I know not why, aircraft that worked before I reinstalled FSX now either have bits missing (engines, spinners, undercarriage, glass, panels etc or are they   competely invisible except for the pilots and lights any ideas why this is and how to cure it? I am assuming it is something to do with the textures.

I have FSX Gold with Acceleration running on Windows 7

are the default craft invisible? or just the addons?  if it is just the addons, i would say there is a problem in the texture files not being read properly.  If it is the Default craft then there are other more serious underlying problems than just the textures being messed up.

Are some of the craft that you are trying to install made for FS2002/2004 ? if they are, they may not work in FSX as some of the coding might be wrong.

yeah i feel you there. but then again i mainly fly spot view...

I am running Win7 Home Premium 64bit (sp1) , FSX Deluxe (sp2).   my FSX is on an external drive that was on another computer, but i just hooked up the external to this computer, and was able to fly with no problems AFTER I turned off the UAC (user accounts control).

since then I have been downloading like crazy (see signature below) + FTX ORBX NA BLUE Pacific Northwest.

Now to go fly...
