If you really have a computer with only 1 Gb of RAM on a 32b system, then it's probably a very old computer. And if it's that old, then it's really a TERRIBLE idea to spend any dollar in it. Better save your money for buying a new one

In any case, on a 32 bits system you won't be able to use more than 4 Gb.

It's not about the number of years, it's about the choice of components.
Two years ago, even the average computer was already sold with 2 or 4 Gb of RAM, and a dual or quad core cpu inside.
What are the exact components of your computer ?

Are you asking about your video cards' memory or your actual ram cards?

You should have at least 2 gigs for FSX. 4 Max.
Additionally, you need a better video card. The HD 2350 will struggle greatly with FSX, depending on how low of a resolution you can get the sim to run at.

I tried FXS with a P4 2.8 P4 HT, 2GB RAM & ATI video with 512mb with really bad frame rates. I went an ASUS mb, P4 D9 duel core 3.2 G , 4 gb ram & a NVIDIA GTS 250 with 1 Gig video ram. It runs great with all settings maxed out. I love it. Max out your RAM & video card, video card, video card. When they came out with FSX, video cards could not keep up. I prefer NVIDIA over ATI, they seem to handle FSX much better.
I truly love the way FS9 runs, my 1st choice, although I'm learning FSX & it's proving to be better every day. The downloads for FXS are getting better.
