Trying to active and use my 6G Ram, I changed my system to Win7 64.
At the first moment I install FSX, it was installed to "programe files(86)".
When I tried to start FSX, I was told " FSX can not run....because the Directx(R) in my computer is incompatible to...., please reinstall Directx 9.0 .. or check Windows\ Directx.log for error information or go to www.MS/Directx"

I find and install the latest Directx 9.0 (June,2010) , several times, but the situation didn't change.
Please help
thanks

Hi,
please give all the error message that you are getting.
I'm running fsx fine on win7 with dx11, fsx did not try and install dx9.

Check what is the latest dx is  that your sound and graphics card are compatible with.

I install FSX to D:\program files\... not (86)this time. no icon on desktop, even I did check the option put creat icon on desktop.
when I try to run FSX, it show " the Directx (r) installed in your computer is not compatible..,reinstall Directx 9.0 ..."
when I try to install Directx 9 from FSX disc to computer, after system auto check it show" system error, check Windows\DXerror.log or check Directx.log"
I check the DXerror.log, it show:
"

How can I resolve this? thanks

I install FSX to D:\program files\... not (86)this time. no icon on desktop,

On Win7 64-bit the correct default location for 32-bit applications like FSX is \Program Files (x86). I don't know if they will run properly from the \Program Files directory.

I don't know if it will fix your problem but you will have much less trouble with the security features of Win7 if you install FSX outside the Program Files directories. My own FSX is installed to C:\FSX

I've done a search & yours appears to be a common problem. You might like to try this. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/256182

Thanks alot Hagar
it is really helpful, but still not work to me. If I can install Directx9 to my system, the problem will be resolved.
but my internet can not connect to web immediately in the safe mode, so I can not use the end user runtime Directx9.
I tried many other version, and failed everytime. Looks like the Directx in win7 64bit keeps other Directx9s out of the door....
why? any help?
Appreciate

If you read the instructions from my link carefully there should be no need to connect to the web.

Hi Hagar
deeply appreciate your help
I tried several different Directx9 versions including the way you show me.
finallly, I maybe should reinstall Win7 and try. If not work, I have no choice to change to other system.
thank you!!
