Postby djbozz » Wed Dec 01, 2010 6:01 am

Hi all, Im new to this forum but not new to flight sims, from FS98 through 2000pro, to FS2004 & now on FSX deluxe with sp1 & 2 plus loads of addons, The only querry I have is with the atc, why does it not give approach speeds only directions, & is there a patch or program that can be used to make the atc do this?, I here there is another simulator which does this, please help thanks.

I don't know if there's any ATC program that will give you approach speeds.
However, in real life there are some rules. For example, you are not allowed to exceed 250 knots when flying below 10.000 feet. That means that your approach must be done below 250 knots. The rest depends on your aircraft of course, but with a liner I usually make my approach around 200 knots, then 180 when the runway is in sight.

Thats the sort of speeds I was using & some approach charts have max speeds on them.

It all starts with checklists. You might want to learn how to use them.

These checklists will tell you what speeds you should be at at the different phases of flight.

Goodluck  :)
