Frustrated w/ GPS

For some reason, I now have an aircraft with GPS (500) but at night it doesn't light w/ panel lights...
Anyone know where I should search for an incomplete setting?

Just one a/c or all? Avionics powered up? Lights on? Default a/c or add-on?

just one a/c- avionics on, i expect it's in the panel.cfg, but can't locate it. Simple illumination setting?
Any leads?

Which aircraft? It's easier to help, when we can download the same plane and look at it.
