Hi Jim -

Did you install FSX to the default C:\programFiles(x86) folder or to it's own?

Have you disabled UAC?

I'd disable UAC first and, if you installed to default - uninstall and reinstall to it's owb folder OUTSIDE of C:\ProgramFiles.

W7 treats the ProgramFiles folder in a special way and sometimes this can cause strange problems.

Locte a checklist file in one of your aircraft folders and see if you can view it manually.

Looks like a permissions issue to me.

Hi Folks

Jim -
Blank or black kneeboard -
is not an FSX issue,
nor is it a Win7 64 bit issue.

The kneeboard utilises the IExplorer engine.

IIRC this was an issue with IE8 when it was released,
I understand that same issue has cropped up in IE9 beta.

Are you using IE8 or IE9 beta ?

If using the IE9 beta -
Uninstall it.

If using IE8 -
ensure you've run windows update to obtain all patches.

Your untextured aircraft is a different issue,
if using FSX's DX10 preview
turn off DX10 if you're intending using FS9 ported planes.

Thanks,

Reinstalling IE8 fixed problem.  Strangely enough, one PC had IE9 and the other IE8, but reinstalling IE8 fixed both.
