Aero Theme and FSX

Whenever FSX is started, the aero theme is changed to Windows Basic. (Windows 7) I tried running the troubleshooter that was mentioned on the info message and changed the theme back to Aero. You are gonna think I'm crazy, but with Aero enabled, I get better FPS in FSX!!!  :o Now, my question is, How do you get the aero theme to stay? (every time i run FSX, i have to run the troubleshooter and switch the theme back) I don't want to do this every time.

I'm still using Windows XP, so the following will be purely intuitive and most likely unhelpful but...

If you're running FSX in full-screen mode, try it in windowed mode or vis-

I don't run FSX in full screen mode. Both ways, aero theme is still disabled when fsx starts.

I should try using the Windows classic theme and see if it gives me a FPS boost; I've heard Aero's a resource hogger. :)

Which makes no sense why most of the time, i get better FPS with aero.
