With Radios and autopilots, etc, etc, which I add to Aircraft not already fitted with them, I have to modify the [aircraft.cfg] file to accommodate them as follows...>>>

Example from the Default Beech Baron 58:
All modules enabled.

[Radios]
// Radio Type = available, standby frequency, has glide slope
Audio.1
Win 8.1 64-bit. DX11. Advent Tower. Intel i7-3770 3.9 GHz 8-core. 8 GB System RAM. AMD Radeon HD 7700 1GB RAM. DVD ROM. 2 Terra Byte SATA Hard Drive. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Saitek Cyborg X Fly-5 Joystick. ...and a Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower.

In addition to what Fozzer mentioned, you need to make sure that the autopilot gauge you are installing is compatible with helicopters. The default autopilot systems, such as the one in the 172, will not function properly with a helicopter's flight dynamics. You will need to download an autopilot addon that supports helicopter operations.

Actually Alrot.....there is a helicopter with an ejection seat! :)

During the ejection process, the rotor blades are detonated off and away from the frame, and then the seat fires.

The quickest and simplest way of adding a Helicopter Autopilot is here...

http://www.dirkfassbender.de/ just look under the [glow=yellow,2,300]Flight Simulator / Software[/glow] Tab.
