1.} I downloaded FSX Wheelcam 2.4 from here at SimV. It self-installed to a folder outside of FSX and appeared to install correctly. I can't get it to work. The read-me says push shift+tab to turn it on and off but, this does nothing, which leads me to believe that it did NOT install correctly or It's oprerator error. My question is......What are the typical installation and operation procedures for this program i.e. what have I done wrong :-/

2.} While configuring Windows 7 for FSX, either by accident or by blindly following instructions turned something off that I want back :(

I may be able to help with #2.

Get into your main security tab(s) (control panel?) to see what permission levels are set and what log in/out requirements are also set.

I had Vista do me like this long ago and found I had some settings/requirements way too high or resrtictive.  Disable any parental controls also.....provided there's no kiddie concerns. :D

Adding to what U4EA said, also check your browser settings and make sure cookies are enabled.

And my best guess as to the wheelcam issue is that you either did not edit the EXE.xml file correctly, or did not edit it at all.

1.} Cookies....brilliant!
2.} I didn't do any editing. Must have missed that in the read me. Where would I find this and what is the edit?

I believe the EXE.xml is located in *username*/appdata/roaming/Microsoft/FSX.

It should look like this:

Code: Select all
<SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0">
      <Descr>Launch</Descr>
      <Filename>EXE.XML</Filename>
      <Disabled>False</Disabled>
      <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad>
      <Launch.Addon><Disabled>False</Disabled>
      <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
      <Name>Wheelcam</Name>
      <Path>*path to the wheelcam .exe file*</Path>
      <CommandLine>-nogui</CommandLine>
      </Launch.Addon>
</SimBase.Document>

No problem, and I copied this from another document, and it says AICarriers instead of Wheelcam. I'll fix that in a second. :)

If it's not cookies then probably something in Windows 7's settings, and I have virtually no experience with W7. :-X :(
