Yesterday I made a flight, flew the first leg, saved it, and set it to be the default flight. Today, I was setting my system up following NickN's instruction guide, I made the FSX.cfg edits and then was going on to the settings part, I opened FSX up and it opened to the home page instead of the Free Flight page (since I was looking at the home page yesterday after my flight), opened up fine, I clicked on 'Free Flight', and the first four options popped up partially, froze, then FSX just dissapeared. I tried it a couple more times with the exact same result. I can view the home page, settings page, Learning Center, and rewards, the other pages do the same thing as the free flight page. I replaced the original FSX.cfg and that didn't do anything. Anyone had this problem or know what's going on? Is it something to do with changing the default flight? If so, how do I change that without being able to get into the free flight? Any help appreciated!

To change back to the default flight, without having to start FSX,

Open the FSX.cfg file and look for the line: 'Situation='

It'll be in the [USERINTERFACE] section.

Delete everything that comes after 'Situation=' ,

and then save it.


Yours should look something like this when done:

SHOW_MISSION_CAPTIONS=0
PAUSE_ON_LOST_FOCUS=0
PROMPT_ON_EXIT=1
[glow=yellow,2,300]SITUATION=[/glow]

SelectAircraftManufacturer=All
SelectAircraftPublisher=All
SelectAircraftType=All
DisplayFuelAsWeight=1


Now, when you start FSX,

you should have the default flight restored.

Glad to hear it. 


I believe the FSX.cfg.txt is like a back up copy of the original.
I have one also, and one for my FS9.
