hey,

iv been trying now to get new skins
putting the texture folder in goes fine but when i try and put the bit of information into the "aircraft.cfg" it says that the file path cannot be created can someone help please be great help

Copy the .cfg to another locale, like into "My Documents".

Then you should be able to edit the snot outta it, delete the old, C&P the new (edit) .cfg and ya should be good to go.

In FSX I can edit .cfg files on add-on ships and some, but not all, default ones.

Firstly which version of Windows are you using?

I know with Vista one cannot make changes to the .CFG within root FSX folder.

You have one of 2 options:

1) You must disable the User Account Controll (UAC) which will enable you to add the required lines in the .CFG to make the textures appear.

The 2nd option is if you choose not to disable the UAC:

2) Copy the .CFG to your desktop, add the lines, save it and copy it back into the required folder.

I am on Vista and I can change all add-on .cfg, and some default .cfg, all within the "root" FSX.

A lot of folks I know with Vista disabled the UAC, like I did, because we all got tired of clickin' seemingly dozens of "permission" and "Are you sure?" boxes.
