This was my most recent posting on the HDEv2 thread, but didn't seem to be getting noticed.

Thanx in advance for any and all help!!!

ARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Tried the install. Followed all read-me items to a tee. Got a fatal error on FSX start!

Made the back-ups like the read-me said, so I then deleted the "modified" texture file, then pulled a re-do by reinstalling the backup copy.......

I am hoping I am not FUBAR!!!

Here's a C&P of the error message:
Problem signature:
  Problem Event Name:      APPCRASH
  Application Name:      fsx.exe
  Application Version:      10.0.61637.0

  Fault Module Name:      visualfx.dll
  Fault Module Version:      10.0.61637.0
  Fault Module Timestamp:      46fadb59
  Exception Code:      c0000005
  Exception Offset:      00020cbb
  OS Version:      6.0.6002.2.2.0.768.3

Is this fixable?
{He asks with extremely crossed fingers}

Yesterday I tried the "repair" section of FSX and Acceleration, to no avail.

I was sorta thinking that I was gonna hafta do an eviction, then reinstall, 'cause even after I'd waxed the effect and texture folder, then replaced with the backup(original) I still got the fatal error result.

The distressing part will be the reinstall of all my add-ons....120 or so aircraft, scenery, etc.... :'(

Thanx for the response! 8-)

I uninstalled my payware scenery and, of course, had to reinstall that but all the aircraft were still there when I reinstalled.

Thank you VERY much for the tips!!!  Worked perfectly!

You're very nice!  Someday someone will write folk songs about you! :)
