Okay, I fly the POSKY BBJ2 (737-800) with a default panel and VC merge all the time, and I have a few questions:

1. Each time I fly, I start with the plane totally shut down. I have downloaded a great checklist for the 737, but when I start up the jet, it seems ot miss a step. How do I turn on the autopilot and radio from the panel or VC without pressing Ctrl-E?

2. How come the heading on the GPS and the heading on the plane's screen differ?

3. Why do the times on the plane and the times on the GPS differ? I assume it has something to do with time zones.

4. How do you turn on the red and green lights on the wings from the panel/VC?

1&4- The default 737 panel sucks and does not include these switches.

2- GPS shows true North, panel shows Magnetic north. Hence the panel showing "HDG 108 MAG" MAG= magnetic

3. GPS is showing local time. Mass is 4 hours behind GMT hence the panel at 20:19(GMT) and the GPS showing an arrival of 16:31(EST) which is 4 hours behind GMT.

Start a flight. Turn everything in the plane off, empty the tanks and payload if you want. Save it that way. In the main FSX menu, go to load flight, click once on your flight you just saved, then check off the box that says "Set to default flight" or something like that. Now all of your flights will start in the same state as the saved file, including plane, airport, time of day, weather, etc.

The Heading indicator is a magnetic, obviously it's the magnetic heading..

See the 'TRK' next to the 113 on the GPS ? That's your track.

Look back at the heading MFD.. you'll see the wind =

The cockpit clock shows UTC not GMT. GMT has not been used since 1 January 1972

I have created a work-around for the nav-lights in the default 737 so I can turn them on with a cockpit switch as needed at any time.

Notice the left-most light switch called "Logo". This switch controls light-type #9 which is not used for anything. Edit your Aircraft.cfg file and in the [LIGHTS] section, change the type-3 lights to type-9 as follows:

B-Valves, I would be very happy to send you the files. However, I don't know how you could use them in the posky model unless you are using the stock 737 virtual cockpit. I'm not very familiar with posky aircraft, but I will help you if I can.

Do you get any nav lights if you issue the "L" keyboard command? If so, that means the nav lights are integrated in the model itself because they are definitely not defined in aircraft.cfg. Usually a model that has flex wings embeds those lights directly in the model because the ones defined in aircraft.cfg will not move with the wing. If this is the case, there really isn't anything that you can do.

I am using the default VC and panel and there are NAV lights already on the plane.

OK, here is what we can do. The Nav lights built into the plane should be type-3 lights. There is no way to toggle this in the 737 VC. However, we CAN toggle a type-9 light using the logo switch. So with a simple XML file installed as a gauge, we can turn on the type-3 light every time the type-9 light is turned on. Here is the XML code that I just wrote:

2. In the 737's panel directory, create a cub-directory called "Lights"
