Hi All,
This question has just been asked recently and I have a similar problem after installing PW sceneries Carribean vol 1-5 and replacement beach texture.
When a fire up FSX and also again when I select settings, scenery library I get an error message "SCENERY.CFG file error. Invalid Remote Scenery path in Scenery Area 154.click Ok to continue"
When I replaced the beach texture I made a change in FSX, scenery, world, texture. Could this be the problem? although I reversed the change and same problem.
Any advise would be most appreciated.
Thanks

No, the default ..\Scenery\World\ is [Area.001]. The default scenery areas run from [Area.001] through [Area.115], which is ...\Addon Scenery\
[Area.154] would be a scenery you added. Did you delete, move or rename any of your added scenery folders without first deleting the area from the FSX Scenery Library? This will cause the error.
If you know the Title for the scenery, delete the entry from the FSX Scenery Library.
If you don't know the Title, open the scenery.cfg file to identify the [Area.154] Title, and then delete it from the FSX Scenery Library.
The active scenery.cfg file is in ...\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX\. (In XP)

Thanks for that info Dave.
I identified the 154 area as PW sceneries vol 5 Leeward Islands which I have deleted but still have same warning.
Maybe I will run the FSX CD and repair?

Did you start FSX and go to Settings>Scenery Library and use the 'Delete Area' button to delete the PW scenery entry from the 'Scenery area' list? That should take care of the error.
If the problem presists, I don't believe that a 'repair' will fix it. You can remove the scenery.cfg file and FSX will replace it with an original copy it has stored as a fall back. Of course, you'll have to add any add on scenery to the Scenery Library again.
In the future, whenever you decide to remove (or move or rename the folder for) added scenery you should first remove it from the Scenery Library (Delete Area) before removing the scenery's folder from your hard drive.
