I recently dicover this product and indedd is a GPU overclock nvidia software ,
I was flying last night a long IFR flight in the pmdg 747 and right in the aproach about a mile in almost invibible weather the computer shuts down I was the whole time checking the temperature while using FSX and the heavy PMDG was 78 celsius, I read that this is a normal temperature.
My point is Do you know it? do you have it? I can't place a bigger fan cooler to the PC express video card (8400gs) should I know something ? did I miss something??

the guru's at most of the overclocking sites say to STAY AWAY from Ntune. It can cause some serious problems.

My advice is not to use softwares like ntune. In my opinion you have 2 choices (according to your temp and your hardware):

1) Use the default freq.

2) Follow a guide (you can find many in internet)  to manually oc your GPU/VM and (IMPORTANT!!!) to test the stability and the temp. of the GPU after-oc...

Overcloccking the GPU (to 20% -30%) is not hard and can increase the performances of FSX but you have to check the stability of your overclock to avoid video problems and hardware damages.

I avoid "Overclocking" like the Plague!... ...!

My Processor and GPU, etc, run quite hot enough as standard/default, (especially in hot ambience!) ... ...!

If I need more speed, I buy faster Processors and GPU's... ...!

Don't really understand the warnings here.

If you're stuck with an OEM PC with no ways to adjust CPU, RAM etc. in BIOS, then Ntune is great, but of course, be careful and keep an eye (or two) on the temps! 8-)

I partially agree:

If you cannot oc using BIOS and you  still want to oc then there are not many options for ya... BUT if you can oc using BIOS then I would avoid such programs!

the point is: manual GPU oc is so easy that risking with userfriendlyautomated program instead of BIOS settings is a useless risk IMO. (of course if you CAN use BIOS)...

Personally I never used it and I don't know much about EVGA precision. Reading here and there it seems to be more accurate than nTune and less risky but my personal advice is the same:

if you want to overclock and if it is possible, do it manually. I don't like when a windows application takes care of voltages and frequences on my hardware.

I've used Ntune and EVGA in combo for a year now, no probs whatsoever.

Considering the experience levels of the "geeks" I'd heed their warnings. Just because a few people have had no problems doesn't make it OK. IMHO, if an 'expert' gives you advice and you choose not to use it, that's fine. If you get away with it, that's lucky. NTUNE is an accident waiting to happen and has screwed up more systems than I can count.

Alrot - as far as EVGA precision goes, it mainly deals with your video card and there have been no major negative reports. My card ( GTX280) is manually clocked but I use Precision to control the fans.

this is a good point ,and there's something in jeopardy my video card , to be honest I belong to the Pentium 3 overclock times ,when CPUs weren't working at critical temperatures ,where slower ,I became old and so these times .
Now I see Huge fans ,speeds measures in Ghz, and due to my experience I have learn two things :
1)Never Update the Bios unless something is really working bad or wrong (I have place few motherboards on the trash)
2) Do not overclock anything after socket 378 ,Like socket 478 & lga775 and so AMD (I have seen OTHERS using prosesors as keychains for doing the wrong things)

why I'm telling this long testament because to be honest ,I have no idea how to increase via Bios set up (tweak) the CPU or GPUs ..couple years ago the no buddy even knew what was GPU.

That's the fan control for the GPU fan.  Is there a fan on your GPU?
