OK, this is a problem I've posessed ever since installing FSX, but it's never been more than a visual annoyance, mitigated somewhat by the fact I rarely fly alumitubes. The problem is that every time I fly past 33,000, there is a layer of pink parachutes floating at that level.

I have seen similar things before of course, but only after what could only be called a night not devoted to sober, thoughtful reflection.

Anyway, I have these pink parachutes (Actually magenta, but let's not get picky here) forming as I pass FL330. As far as I can guess, they might be representative of some missing texture or something, or some random glitch that others might be familiar with. They are present no matter how I set up my flight; they're certainly not cloud related, they appear regardless of how I set weather. I can't recall if they occurred before I installed Acelleration; I got the FSX Gold pack so installed the whole thing at one whomp.
So far, these silly floating pink parachutes aren't much trouble; they just look weird.
(At least they don't have fuzzy pink elephants floating under them. Oh wait...that was last Friday...but I digress. )
But late last night, I was finishing a really good 5-hour FSPassengers flight from San Francisco into Toronto; passed through FL330 on the descent AND CRASHED INTO A FLOATING PINK PARACHUTE!!!

Wow. Never seen anything ever like that in FS before.

What. The. H***.

That takes the cake for the most unusual problem that I have ever seen! What addons have you installed within the past couple of weeks?

Far as I know, it's been there ever since I installed it months ago. I've reinstalled since and it's still there. (I REALLY don't want to reinstall again given the number of addons I've got; but...)

Maybe these are the "approach guides"? I remember seeing such a feature once, like things that tell you which way to fly.

Pink Parachutes:  I think Daube had that problem about a year ago.  I don't recall how, or if, it was cured.

Maybe someone left a red t-shirt in the machine when they were washed?!? 

Have you installed a B-24 Liberator recently and maybe got a Liberace through a typo?

That might be the funniest thing I have ever seen in Flight Sim.

As to where they came from.......um....err......you don't have any .....um...ugh....pirated addons do you?

If it let's you crash into them it's got to be an aircraft or scenery problem. Have you tried flying with all AI aircraft off?

That is just bizarre! Two (non-useful) suggestions:

1. Have you contacted the Floating pink parachute police?
2. Have you tried getting your rifle out and shooting down the parachutes?

Seriously though ... are the 'parachutes' static?  I mean, do they fall like parachutes or are they just floating like a tethered balloon?

Are they always found at the same location or do they seem to be following you around?

They remind me of a function from the Hercules where you can press a button and a cargo is dropped with a parachute from the rear door - do you (or have you ever had) this plane ... could it be a stray gauge that triggers the 'cargo drop' function when you pass 33,000?

This is a doozy.  I hope you find a way to get it sorted.

Have you tried flying other DEFAULT aircraft up past FL300 to see if the parachutes appead with default craft?

Don't panic.
It's SimProbe that is causing those parachutes to appear
