Under the lights section of a FSX Aircraft config file. You have something that looks like this...
*Airbus A330-300 ( This Original airplane has four locations )
light.6 = 5, 18.000, 27.000, -4.000, Opensky_wing_light,
light.7 = 5, 19.933, 8.827, -4.368, Opensky_wing_light,
light.8 = 5, 18.000, -27.000, -4.000, Opensky_wing_light,
light.9 = 5, 19.933, -8.827, -5.368, Opensky_wing_light,
What do each grouping of numbers mean? I am guessing one is brightness?
And the others are coordinates?
Can anyone help me? I am trying to use other lights in these ones place. I just wanted to know how I would use these with the above numbers?
*Airbus A330-300 ( With this set I only have three light locations I need four )
light.9 = 5, 12.4, -10.50, -4.00 , fx_siroccogtx2_reflectors
light.10= 5, 12.4, 10.50, -4.00 , fx_siroccogtx2_reflectors
light.11= 6, 66.0, 0.00, -9.00 , fx_siroccogtx2_reflectors
Any help would be appreciated!

Look at a default aircrafts lighting section, and way to the right there should be a pair of // and it should give an extremely brief explanation of what each set means.

Can I just do this???
light.6 = 5, 18.000, 27.000, -4.000, fx_siroccogtx2_reflectors,
light.7 = 5, 19.933, 8.827, -4.368, fx_siroccogtx2_reflectors,
light.8 = 5, 18.000, -27.000, -4.000, fx_siroccogtx2_reflectors,
light.9 = 5, 19.933, -8.827, -5.368, fx_siroccogtx2_reflectors,

Try that, but change the light.x for the appropriate number.

Thanks Meck and Tyler, I tried and no success but not cause of the lights. The plane won't even show in my inventory. So I have to figure out why that is. Damn Usair a330!

The number immediately following the equals sign (=) specifies which electrical switch controls the effect...
Note that there are
TEN different light circuits!
- Code: Select all
[LIGHTS]
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing
// 6=taxi, 7=recognition, 8=wing, 9=logo 10=cabin
light.1=10, 11.50, 0.30, 2.00, escj1_panelflood.fx
light.2=10, 11.50, -0.30, 2.00, escj1_panelflood.fx
light.3=9, 6.0, -0.30, 2.00, escj1_panelflood.fx
light.4=8, 13, -17.8, 8.2, escj1_icelight

The format for the lights are light.a=b, x.xx, y.yy, z,zz, where "a" is the light number, "b" is the light type, and x.xx is front to back, y.yy, is right to left, and z.zz is up and down.
The coordinates are baseed upon the 0.00 point which is usually (but not always) the center of gravity of the aircraft, and the units are in feet.
A positive number is towards the front of the aircraft (X.XX), to the right (Y.YY) and up (Z.ZZ), negative numbers are aft, left and down.

as far as the craft not showing in the inventory, are you sure that it is not just a texture for another plane? sometimes designers have a bad habit of not telling you that you need the base files (actual airplane) before you download texture files/repaints.

Anybody have suggestions for cabin lights. I would like to create code for that. I know how to start the code. But ho do I put in for coordinates for cabin lights.

Do you mean the passenger cabin or the cockpit?
