Problem saving panel.cfg file

I am trying to edit the panel cfg file in FS9 or FSX but it won't let me save it. I am using windows 7. I had no problems doing this when I used windows XP. Anyone else having a similar problem?
Thanks in advance to any assistance.

Try moving the panel.cfg to your desktop, then modify and save it there.

When you are done, then move it back to where it was.

Vista & 7 don't like it when you mess with files that are located in the Program Files  folder.

The best way around this, is to make sure FS is NOT installed in C:/Program Files
Install it into a custom folder.  ;)

Or another way around is to right click right click the folder Microsoft Flight Simulator X in Microsoft Games.
Once right clicked, go properties, security, edit, users, then click full control. It might take some time.
