Can the value of "num_lights" be greater than 8 without it being reset?

I need to set my maximum number of lights to a value greater than 8 (in aircraft.cfg). However, every time I have done so, it gets exit reset to num_lights=8 upon exiting FSX. Is there some way to get around this problem?

No, because 8 IS the max limit!

That definely explains why it is always being reset when enter a higher value. Thanks.

BTW, you can have more than eight effect lights defined in the aircraft.cfg's [lights] section, but eight is the max number that will ever be displayed at the same time when in Spot View.
