I go to start FSX and this message appears:
Scenery read error: Attempting to open non-existent directory: /ms games/texture
And sure enough, my texture folder is gone O_o
any ideas why? :-?
And I am not re-installing.

When I accidentally overwrote some of my FS9 textures, I went and put the installer disk in, then opened up the drive in windows explorer.I then found the .cab file with all my textures in it, then just copied an pasted. There sould be a coulumn that says "destination directory" to help you out.
Hope that helps!

First thing I would do is search your HD's for texture, maybe some how you moved it when you were messing around in Windows Explorer. This happened to me a week or two ago, some how I moved my weather folder under my uires folder and I got an error message as soon as the FSX opened up with the aircraft on the ground.

Did you run the "Uninstall" first? Even if you run the uninstall, you may still have to poke around to find bit's and pieces that are still left behind. Check the "Clean FSX, Acceleration, SP1 & SP2 install" sticky above the FSX board.
