Even though I have the FrameRate Limiter set to Unlimited, the max I am getting is 30fps.

You need to read Nick's thread. Look at my specs and I have my sim set at 30 FPS and I am tweaked!
Higher numbers mean nothing, a fluid, flying sim is what matters..

Some people are very spoiled

I know some people that would kill for 30fps, including me. At this point, with this number, could you really see the difference if it was any higher, or are you just tweaking settings just for kicks?

Though fairly new with FSX I find it, at a fixed 25 fps, a more enjoyable sim experience than my FS9, fixed at 50 fps and I have the same mesh and topsoil on each.

I read on another forum that if you are set to unlimited it causes a larger work load for your processor than if you were set to a number, whether that number be 20, 30, 60,etc. A larger work load would then effect the smoothness of flight etc.
Sounded logical anyway, I wonder if it was a true statement?
