Pathetic jetway motion

Why does the jetway always lurch a few feet when moving either to or from its resting position? Its tires are also halfway embedded in the tarmac while it is moving. Finally, why does it not make contact parallel to the aircraft? It is always canted about 20 degrees.
Is there a fix or a replacement for the default FSX jetway?

do you have the correct specs to make them move?
Post your specs please

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean by supplying specifications. All I can tell you is that a jetway that moves its first 10 feet of extension in zero seconds, is moving infinitely fast and therefore breaks the laws of physics. Need I say more?

So are you guys saying the your jetways work alright? Perhaps it is just my system that is having problems.
In any case, I'm sorry to learn that there is no replacement.

well
what kind of graphics card do you have.if i remember correctly(looking now) jetways require shader 2.0
Edit- yep your card must support shader 2.0 for jetways to work
If you do have this, have you tried looking at the jetway file for a flaw maybe(not sure of the name of it or where it would be on the cfg file)

I have an ATI Radeon 4870 with 2GB memory. Could that be a problem?

Oh and are things like cars and fuel trucks, etc moving sluggish?
What are your average FPS?
is it with default aircraft too?
Default scenery?

Motion is smooth at 24 fps. The jetway motion is not affected by scenery, traffic, or any other settings I have tried. It always behaves EXACTLY the same way every time:
Upon activation, the jetway extends in an instantaneous sudden jump, a distance of about 10 scale feet. It then smoothly moves into position against the aircraft, but the shroud that makes contact with the fuselage is not completely parallel with the X-axis of the plane. That is, there is a two-foot gap between the jetway and plane right behind the pilot's window. Also, when the jetway moves, the lower half of its wheels are burried in the tarmac. When retracted, the wheels are contacting the ground correctly.
Are any of you seeing this as well?

I do see this in my own sim. Its a limit of how the jetways were made. Their just there for eye candy so M$ didn't spend much time on animating them. And as far as I know there isn't any update or replacement. And I find it's really not a big deal, I find its quite simple to ignore. There aren't any real passengers anyway so why spend so much time with the jetway anyway?

Thanks BAW0343, you have answered my questions. I guess I will learn to live with it.
