I try to install some scenery's in settings, scenery library by clicking the add new area button. I go to the scenery I want to install and click open, and it just shows two files named "Scenery" and "Texture" but it does not install them.

Please help, the scenery is really cool!!!!

This is strange. In the popup window that appears once you click on "add scenery", if you highlight a scenery folder ( = a folder that contains a two folders nammed "scenery" and "texture"), and press OK button, it should add this scenery to the list, instead of showing the content of the folder...
Are you sure you have unzipped the archive correctly ?

Sorry for the question, but did you install sceneries before? just to know if you know the proper procedure or if there's a problem with the specific scenery.
Be sure that you don't double click the folder that supposedly contains the 'texture' and 'scenery' folder, but instead just highlighting it and then press "open".

it should be easy, but it's not always the case. you unzip your scenery file, where you find a scenery and a texture files. you open your addon scenery file where you see the same thing:scenery, texture. you copy the .bgl scenery files in scenery and the .bmp texture files in texture. you close everything and when you open fsx a window should open saying that the library in updating.but sometimes it doesn't work.go see what i mean in freeware screenshots.the title is chainsaw.

If you can see the Scenery & Texture sub-folders you've gone too far. As the others have said, click on the parent folder of the new scenery to select it. Then click OK. Providing it's configured properly the new scenery area will then be activated.
The procedure is exactly the same as for FS2002.

Another possibility is having subfolders (e.g., additional zipped files) within those Scenery/Texture main folders. I had that happen once and couldn't figure out why the scenery wouldn't "take" till the main folders were actually opened and checked out, turned out all the .bgl files had been zipped up. Hope you get it working.

I'm having the same problem. I used to be able to add scenery no problem, but I just wiped my computer and installed Windows 7 Ultimate. After installing FSX, I can't seem to get the scenery library to work. The scenery does not have any folders other than 'scenery' and 'texture' in it.

This seems a common problem with Windows 7. I've had a look round & found this. Please tell me if it helps.
