toggling drop down menus

Hi all,
Sorry if this has been covered before, but my drop down menus (i.e. file, aircraft, help, etc.) have disappeared. I imagine there is a keyboard shortcut to bring it back up, but I do not know what that is.
Thanks,
Raz

press the ALT button to bring up the menu at the top....then hold down the ALT button for a few seconds and it'll disappear

I thought that too, but it is not working. I am using windows 7, does anybody know if the shortcuts have changed for said software?

no...it should work regardless of your OD version (unless your using Mac OS X then the key will be slightly different) but generally things like that are more or less coded into the program its self (FSX, etc) either Alt key should work...if not, perhaps some how the key command was disabled (if so how did you manage that one?)...besides those two things that come to my head first im not really 100% sure with out being able to physically see whats going on...

That has me thinking now, in windows explorer alt still works for that purpose. I'm thinking I may have to reinstall fsx to get the menus back.

Have a look in your fsx.cfg. It should have these entries under the Main header.
HideMenuNormal=0
HideMenuFullscreen=1
You could try changing the 1 to 0 & see what happens.

Thanks Hagar, problem solved. I did find the cfg file and somehow changing the toggle was the solution. I'm not exactly sure why it worked for me, but it did.
