Bug, or behavior by design?

Has anyone noticed that as soon as the stock Airbus 321 gets airborne, the rudder no longer functions? Upon landing, the functionality is restored. Is this a bug?

Ive notice a lot of problems with the default airbus. For example, it the rudder as you said does not work well in the air, it is sometimes hard to maneuver and do sharp turns like in a 737

It's designed like that, it's not a bug.
The fly-by-wire computers will prevent any action that would take the plane too far from the perfect flight domain (which means: no slides, no excessive angle of attack, no low speed, nothing).
Note that the computer gives you back the full controls (including rudder) at 300 feet from the ground, in order to line up with the runway at the last moment in case of crosswinds.

Why even have a pilot in it, lol.

Thank you all for the clarification, though I must say I only regain rudder control about 20 feet above ground and not 300.

That's why I fly Boeing

Silly fly-by-wire telling me what I want to do

I thought I had read somewhere that you could disable the computer-aided flying in the Airbus 321. I think the buttons are located in the overhead panel on the left side by the APUs... Don't quote me on that, I'm trying to remember without looking inside the game.
Let me know if that works.

You could be Right
I disengage this and now seems fine

Yes, disengaging those buttons is the first step.
Then, you must also disengage the Flight Director of the autopilot.

Thanks, that definitely worked. However, now have to learn the feel of this new plane. It's totally different.

Maybe you better get a dog in that cockpit with you :-/

I hate flying the default Airbus. I can not fly it. It is just to tricky. And it's ugly.
