add-on menu missing?

add-on menu missing?

Postby jaime » Tue Dec 01, 2009 11:10 am

Is there a way to enable/disable the add-on menu? I am trying to figure out how it is enabled so I can turn it on, is there something special I must do or have to get it to show up? I have a program that I want to use that needs this menu apparently and I can't get the menu to show up so I can enable my add-on program and adjust the settings for it...:( does any one know what I need or might be missing?

The Addon Menu tab appears when an addon program has been correctly installed.  If you do not see it then I assume the the addon program that you want is not correctly installed.

What addon program are you talking about and have you installed it yet?

its that FSX recorder program that allows you to recorde your self then fly with your self...

and I have installed it properly, I even checked the one FSX.dll.XML (or what ever that one file is that adds things to the menu bar) and all items were installed properly...im in the process of reinstalling FSX from ground up to see if it might be an issue where I was missing something (IE SP1/SP2 or something like that)

but what should I do if i get every thing installed properly and all that and it wont work still?

The dll.xml looks correct except possibly the path statement.

[glow=yellow,2,300]D:\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\RecorderFSX.dll[/glow]

Is that the correct path to the RecorderFSX.dll file?

From your dll.xml it looks like you have SDK loaded, do you have a Tools tab and does any of the SDK stuff show up?

Try downloading something like FSUIPC (there is a freeware version), AI Carrier 2 or AutoThumbnail and see if any of those gives you a Addon tab.

Rod,

His SDK's are disabled True so they won't be showing. Those SDK 's are present in the default dll.xml file even if the SDK is not installed.

Jaime,

Your indicates the recorder dll is in your FSX main folder?

jaime,

If you haven't done so, visit the Recorder support forum-http://www.fs-recorder.net/forum/

In this 'sticky' the author discusses several possibilities for why the FSX version isn't working.

The more basic problem may be rooted in the SDK you have installed.

May I suggest you visit the site below and read and follow their recommendations:

http://www.fsdeveloper.com/wiki/index.p ... _%28FSX%29

It got my system fixed in no time.   :)
