I have heard many fsx tales that you can go to the moon in the game. I have also heard that you may only do this in acceleration (which I have). Is there a way to go to the moon. If so, how? If this is true and you know what to do please tell me.

Boikat is right, there's no way to go to the moon in FSX.
You might be confusing with XPlane, where I think you can go into space, and perhaps to the moon.
FSX does not handle space flight. You can go into space with the slew (Y key), but the flight model will get crazy there, and your plane will spin like hell, totally unrealistic.
Also, I believe FSX will not even allow you to reach the necessary speed to stay in an orbital flight (8000 meter/second at 120 kms from the ground).
As mentionned above, if you want to experiement realistic space flight, you should try Orbiter or XPlane. Space flight is not possible in FSX. Not yet.

In X plane I do believe you can fly on the moon, and I know for sure Mars. As far as travelling for Earth to either one... That might make for a very long flight, you might have to take a vacation from your job

The flights on Mars though are definitely not the same quality as Earth flights, or so I thought IMHO. I guess they wanted to make something that other flight sim products didn't have.
