I just bought Gold edition. I installed Deluxe using the 2 disks. I ran FSX and went to view the new missions. When I tried to fly one, FSX just closed without warning. I am installing the Acceleration Expansion pack with the third disk right now. Why did the crash happen? I ran FSX again, tried to load the mission, and the same thing happened.

any errors? have you tried reinstalling? if acceleration doesn't fix it.

Acceleration didn't fix it.  There was no error message the first time. The second time, it said something like that FSX stopped responding and will close. It gave two options. One to restart and one to close.

Did the CTD occur when you clicked Go To Briefing ?

If so,

If not,
please post the specific error details from your Event Log.

It was when I clicked "Go To Briefing." The page you directed me to gave me the solution I needed! I will now go fly.
