If you're speaking of the normal Map window......
There is no default assignment to display the Map window. You can make a key/button assignment for the 'Map (display/hide)' event. (I find that 'hide' doesn't work, you must close the Map window with the mouse.)
Or you can just use the menu shortcut keys-Alt then W then M.
If you're speaking of the Edit map in the Flight Planner (to edit your route), that's only available in the Flight Planner.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
